We have been illustrating, aerating, sometimes desecrating and generally decorating local skin in Reno for over 25 years. Originally opened on Wells Avenue by Kelly Miller as Shadowbrite Tattoo in 1985, the shop quickly gained a reputation of quality custom work and outlasted the competition.  Kelly later focused his efforts at his shop in Salt Lake City, offering local artist Rafael Reyes the opportunity to take over operations and ownership in the Reno community. Kelly taught a strong sense of tattoo ethics and history as well as friendly and open business practices and policies. Starting in 1998, the shop was renamed Stingray Tattoo and continued creating high-quality custom tattoos in Reno.2009 brought growth and construction, when they expanded into the shop next door as well. Today, with the remodel complete, Stingray Tattoo offers an open and safe environment, with multiple glass walled booths, a library of art and tattoo reference, and a pretty damn comfortable lobby. They also offer body piercing jewelry and services from professionals with an extensive knowledge of the history and safety of the latest body piercing techniques. If you’re interested in a ‘private’ tattoo or piercing, you can also schedule a private appointment. Appointments are always available and walk-ins are always welcome – when you want a custom tattoo today, Stingray Tattoo has got your back, arm, or ankle.
